The apartment bought by Émilie and her husband is a true witness to Lyon’s history. Former housing for canuts, the silk weavers of the 19th century, it retains all the features of this unique architecture: exposed stone walls, high French-style ceilings, and impressive volumes originally designed to accommodate weaving looms.
Émilie skillfully reinterpreted this space with a strong personal touch, balancing heritage and modernity. The entrance sets the tone: an intimate room adorned with Pierre Frey wallpaper and accented by a moustache-shaped stool, creating a cozy and unique atmosphere. The living area, flooded with natural light, boasts spectacular ceiling heights that allowed for the addition of a custom mezzanine hosting a bedroom and a workspace.
The centerpiece of the living room remains the monumental Brazilian tapestry, treated as a standalone work of art. Every room tells a story, with special attention to materials, textures,
and spatial flow.
