For this new Home Tour, we left the city behind to gain a little altitude… heading to Beaujolais to meet Jean Rémi, also known as Maison Joly. A well-known event caterer in and around Lyon, Jean Rémi opens the doors to a truly unique place, at the crossroads of a life project, an entrepreneurial adventure, and a restored rural heritage.
Domaine Marchampt is far more than an event venue. It is a charming estate, nestled in the heart of nature, bringing together a place to work, a place to live, and a family home—creating an inspiring and harmonious balance.

Domaine Marchampt
Set in an exceptional environment, Domaine Marchampt overlooks a forest and a vast cultivable garden, offering a peaceful and inspiring setting, far from the bustle of the city yet just a few kilometers from Lyon.
Renowned for its rolling landscapes, vineyards, and golden stone architecture, Beaujolais is also a region of strong character—one that increasingly attracts investors in search of space, authenticity, and long-term projects.
The estate is structured around a collection of historic stone buildings arranged into several wings, each dedicated to a specific purpose: the private residence where Jean Rémi lives with his family, spaces devoted to receptions and events, guest rooms and gîtes, as well as staff accommodation.
Every area has been carefully designed with deep respect for the site’s history. The charm of the old stone buildings is omnipresent, and certain details tell a true story: the floor of one of the rooms was crafted using the same material as that of the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière in Lyon—a powerful nod to a place deeply rooted in its region.
This project has been carried out as a duo by Jean Rémi and his mother. Jean Rémi oversees the culinary and event side of the business, while his mother manages guest reception, bed and breakfast accommodations, and hospitality. Together, they have been reinvesting in this property stone by stone for the past three years.
While Jean Rémi initially envisioned this place as a workspace, the idea of creating a true home—one to be lived in on a daily basis—was just as central. Accustomed to working in beautiful reception venues, he wanted to design his own: an estate in his image, warm, sincere, and deeply human.
Today, Domaine Marchampt can host up to 100 guests for receptions, features a 40-person tasting cellar, and by the end of 2026 will offer around twenty sleeping accommodations spread across gîtes and guest rooms. All of this unfolds within a preserved natural setting, striking a balance between conviviality and elegance.
Domaine Marchampt embodies what can truly be called a real estate life project. A home to live in, a place to bring to life, an adventure to be shared.
By bringing together built heritage, nature, hospitality, and entrepreneurial creativity, this Beaujolais estate demonstrates that it is possible to combine a primary residence, a professional activity, and an exceptional quality of life—without compromise.
Above all, it stands as a successful rehabilitation: respectful of what already exists, designed to endure, and driven by a strong, thoughtful vision.
As Jean Rémi puts it:
“Beaujolais welcomed us so warmly. I think we would do it a thousand times over again today.”
